MINDING EACH MOMENT
YOGA FOR WELLNESS

General Yoga Classes for Wellbeing

Mixed age and mixed ability classes, with the opportunity for everyone to work at a level they are comfortable with. The sessions begin with a warm up and then typically move into a gentle flow of movements. The sessions always finish with a very important and much loved 10-15 minute relaxation.

Please try to bring your own mat - however if you don't have one yet, not to worry I usually have spares.

Relaxed and friendly classes

Complete beginners are very welcome!

Open to everyone ages 16 and up - so bring your teenager, parent or grandparent along too!

Why Do Yoga?

Yoga suits everybody and can support health and vitality at every stage of life. The physical practices of yoga are such that they can be modified to fit any age, stage of life, body type or ability.

Yoga has many styles that range from challenging vinyasa flows to restorative yoga, to yoga for specific conditions or ages. However, regardless of what type of yoga is for you, they all keep our bodies moving. Bringing fluidity and strength to the body. Easing your body of stiffness and discomfort, and helping you to maintain proper alignment by building strength through your core.

The kinesis of the body extending, stretching, contracting and flexing keeps your body toned, supple, flexible. Nourishing the vitality of your body (no matter your age or ability) to sustain its optimal potential.

Yoga can also help reduce your stress and calm the mind; restoring and replenishing your reserves so that you feel refreshed with a healthy mindset. Yoga leaves you feeling able to respond decisively to everyday pressures rather than reacting when you’re feeling under tension.

There’s something wonderful and magical that happens when the body and the breath move in yogic unison – and the magic is that the brain is minding each moment - it finds the rhythm of the moment to focus on, and when the mind is focused on what the body is doing it doesn’t really think of much else – you get swept up in the flow - just like an artist, writer or an athlete gets caught up ‘in the zone’ of creativity, of enjoyment, of purpose, so too can yoga do this to you– freeing your mind of the worries, stress and demands of daily life.
